Water supply on the boat -   To supply water on the boat, a number of water pumps are used and named according to their purpose and application.   Pressure water pumps Fresh water pumps, pressurised water pumps & drinking water pumps supply fresh water on board. They are used to deliver the water from the tank to an outlet. Pressurised water pumps are located in the boat outside the water tanks. When they are switched on, water pressure in the pipes on board remains constant, so that the water reaches the outlet at full capacity.    In line pumps In-line pumps are ideal for the drinking water systems on smaller vessels. One in-line pump is used to supply water for each fresh water tap. In-line pumps can be installed like valves in pipelines and are connected to the outlet with a hose and cable. In-line pumps are operated via microswitches on the water tap (tapping point). In-line pumps for small boats are characterised by their low power consumption.    Flushing pumps Flushing pumps are used for toilets, for example. They draw in seawater for flushing and only activate when the toilet flush switch is pressed.   Shower water pumps If used water, e.g. from the washroom, needs to be transferred to grey water tanks, it is best to buy a shower water bilge pump. Shower water bilge pumps in 12 V or 24 V from RM can be found in our range of fresh water pumps.    Double-port pump Double-port pumps can be used, for example, to fill a tank (fish tank, ballast tank or similar) with seawater and at the same time wash the deck.   Water pressure systems / pressurised water systems These systems are complete, compact pump systems featuring a pressure compensation tank, filter and other components. The compact systems are particularly suitable for boats with high water requirements.    These water pressure systems require various components to function correctly for them to be effective. Pressure compensation tanks, filters and other accessories can be found in our Website.

  • How to Prime Your RV Water Pump: A Step-by-Step Guide
    Apr 28, 2024
Are you planning your next adventure in your RV but encountering issues with your water pump? Don't worry; priming your RV water pump is simpler than you might think. Follow these easy steps to ensure smooth water flow during your travels.   Step 1: Turn off the RV Water Pump Before starting the priming process, ensure the RV's water pump is switched off to avoid any accidents.   Step 2: Fill the Freshwater Tank Make sure your RV's freshwater tank is filled with water. Adequate water in the tank is essential for priming the pump.   Step 3: Open a Faucet To release any trapped air in the water lines, open one or more faucets in your RV. This step helps facilitate the flow of water during priming.   Step 4: Turn on the Pump Switch on the water pump. You'll hear it start running as it begins the priming process.   Step 5: Monitor Pressure and Water Flow Keep an eye on the water pressure gauge, if available, or listen for changes in the pump's noise. Initially, the pump may run continuously as it works to prime the system. Watch for steady water flow from the faucets you opened earlier.   Step 6: Bleed Air from Lines If water doesn't flow immediately, turn off the pump and try opening and closing the faucets again. This helps release any remaining air trapped in the lines.   Step 7: Repeat as Needed In some cases, you may need to repeat steps 3-6 a few times to fully prime the pump, especially if the RV has been unused for a while.   Step 8: Check for Leaks Inspect around the pump and water connections for any leaks. Tighten connections as needed to prevent water loss.   Step 9: Secure Access Panels Once you're satisfied with the pump's operation, replace any access panels or covers that were removed earlier.   With these simple steps, you can prime your RV water pump efficiently, ensuring a hassle-free water supply during your adventures on the road. Happy travels!   Remember: Regular maintenance of your RV's water system, including the water pump, is crucial for trouble-free trips. If you encounter persistent issues, it may be time to consult a professional for assistance.
